Department of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics and Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics hold traditional Winter school on Theoretical Physics from 23 to 28th of December. During the school, three lecture courses on modern quantum condensed matter physics will be given. Each course starts from the classical questions and finishes at modern problems on which people write papers ‘here and now’. The Summer School and Conference for Young Researchers on Modern Quantum Technologies will be organized as a collaborative educational project by the University of Rostock (Germany), the Kyiv Academic University (Ukraine), and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU). Participation of students and speakers from other universities and research institutions is envisage and will be encouraged. The school is planned to be held 10-14 September 2018 in Kyiv at the Bogolyubov Institute for Theoretical Physics (BITP), NASU.

В п'ятницю 24 січня о 15:00 відбудеться семінар Квантового центру КАУ, як спільний семінар КАУ та Відділу надпровідності Інституту металофізики. Володимир Шнирков, відомий експерт з надпровідних кубітів, прочитає першу лекцію на тему "Однофотонний мікрохвильовий детектор". Очікуємо на вільну та конструктивну дискусію про принципи побудови надпровідних кубітів, а також стосовно розбудови Квантового центру та його участі в міжнародних проектах. Семінар відбудеться у лекційній залі КАУ в Інституті металофізики (2 поверх головного корпусу). Запрошуються всі бажаючі, але необхідно зареєструватись, бо кількість стільців обмежена.

The current UKRATOP scholarships for master students that had to be finished at the end of March 2020 are extended to the end of June 2020. The scholarships are offered in one of three specializations (materials, experiment, or theory) to:- 5 MSc students (6-month stays at IFW Dresden): ca. 940 Euro/month + enrolment and health insurance,- 1 PostDoc (12-month stays at IFW Dresden): 2,500 Euro/month.
